What can I use Mousekeeper for?
Anything that decides you're "away" or "idle" by watching your mouse. The common ones: keeping Microsoft Teams, Slack, Skype, Google Chat or Webex showing you as available; stopping Remote Desktop, Citrix, VPN or web-portal sessions from timing out; keeping a dashboard, kiosk or wall monitor awake; stopping a game or tool from logging you out; or simply replaying a click routine (refresh a page, dismiss a pop-up) every few minutes.
What exactly does it do when I go idle?
It replays the click sequence you recorded: the cursor glides to each point in order and left-clicks there, then glides back to where it was. It only does this once Windows reports no mouse or keyboard input for your chosen timeout, and only once per idle period.
So it clicks things. Is that safe?
It clicks exactly where you told it to, and nowhere else. Most people record a blank patch of desktop, the taskbar, or an empty area of a chat window. Use Test run to watch the sequence play before you rely on it, and never record a point over something you wouldn't want clicked while you're away.
How do I record a sequence?
Click Record sequence, then click each spot on screen in the order you want. Clicks on the Mousekeeper window itself are ignored. Press Esc or click Finish recording when you're done. Undo last removes the most recent point; Clear starts over.
How do I choose the timeout?
Type any number of seconds (5 to 86,400) or click a preset. For Microsoft Teams, use 285 seconds (4 min 45 s) — just under its five-minute "Away" threshold. For session timeouts, pick something comfortably shorter than the timeout you're fighting.
Will my employer be able to tell?
Mousekeeper produces ordinary, OS-level mouse input — to anything monitoring at the operating-system level it looks like you moved the mouse and clicked. It does not inject keyboard events, talk to any app's API, or fake internal state. That said, if your workplace policy forbids tools like this, please don't use it.
What's included in the free trial?
Everything. 14 days, no limits, no watermark, no card on file. After 14 days the app asks for a licence. If you decide not to buy, just uninstall.
Why do I need an account to buy?
Your licence is stored in your account, so you can always come back to download it again or move it to a new PC — no support ticket needed. Creating one is free and takes a minute: name, email, password. We confirm the email address before you pay because that's where the licence is sent.
How is my licence delivered?
Sign in, then at checkout enter the Machine ID shown in the app (the Get a licence button fills it in for you). The moment Stripe confirms payment, your licence is generated for that PC, emailed to you, shown on the confirmation page, and saved to your account. Import the file — or paste the key — in the app and the badge turns green.
I lost my licence file / I got a new PC.
Sign in with the email and password you registered with (or use "Forgot password" to get a sign-in link by email). In your account you can download your licence again or enter the new PC's Machine ID to move the licence. The old PC's licence stops working when you move it.
Does the app need internet? Does it check my licence online?
Not to run. Your licence file carries a cryptographic signature that the app verifies on your own PC — there's no activation server and no sign-in. The one thing it does online is download our public list of revoked licences (refunds, and licences moved to another PC) at start-up and once a day. That request carries no identifiers, and if it fails — say on a machine with no network at all — the app keeps working. The only other online action is opening this website in your browser when you click Get a licence.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed by Stripe: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and, depending on your country, Apple Pay, Google Pay and local methods. We never see your card details.
Is there a subscription?
No. One payment, used forever, no auto-renewal. We don't store your card details.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — if Mousekeeper doesn't work on your PC and we can't fix it within a reasonable time, we'll refund you in full within 14 days of purchase. We ask that you try the free trial first so refunds are rarely needed. See our refund policy.
Windows warned me about the installer. Is it safe?
The installer and the app are digitally code-signed, so Windows can verify who published them. A brand-new certificate can still trigger a SmartScreen notice until it builds reputation; if you see one, click More info → Run anyway. You can also verify the download's SHA-256 checksum on the download page.
Does it run on Mac or Linux?
Not currently. Mousekeeper uses Windows-specific APIs (the system idle timer, the registry, the system tray) and is Windows-only by design.
